INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1

Prepare

Cut two sections of Ty-GardDS® and one section of Ty-PatchDS® for each band required. Peel away the release liner and apply the exposed adhesive surface to the sidewall in the predetermined position. Apply pressure with a bonding roller or squeegee.

Step 2

Load

Finish loading cargo and pull the Ty-GardDS® strips across the face of the load overlapping ends approximately 1 ft (30cm).

Step 3

Tension

Insert the Ty-Tool® down through the overlapping bands and place the magnet as shown. Cut excess overlap if necessary. Use the small wrench to tension.

Step 4

Seal

Remove release liner from the 5ft length of Ty-Patch and place across the tensioned Ty-GardDS® barrier. Apply pressure with a bonding roller or squeegee.

RAIL MODE

Rail transportation subjects the transport units and cargo to extremely demanding longitudinal impacts and rail authorities require shippers secure dangerous goods and general cargo. Ty-Gard DS meets rail transport of dangerous goods guidelines set forth in the EU’s RID and in the USA by The Association of American Railroads (AAR).

HIGHWAY MODE

Motor carriage of dangerous goods in the EU is governed by ADR and in the United States by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Ty-Gard meets all pertinent guidelines set forth in these documents

OCEAN MODE

The securement of dangerous goods during international ocean transportation is subject to the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. That Code sets forth performance based standards. Section 7.5.2.2 of the lMDG Code. International Maritime Organizations (IMO) CTU CODE provides specific securing method recommendations and references Ty-Gard.
